Resurgens Bank Chosen For SBLF Funds To Benefit Small Businesses
Resurgens Bank has been selected to receive nearly $3 million in funding from the U.S. Treasury's Small Business Lending Fund. The funds, provided to fiscally strong and healthy community banks, are designed to enhance the bank's capital and promote small business lending.
CEO, Charles DeWitt, said the funds will be leveraged to provide loans for small-to-medium sized businesses throughout the Atlanta community.

Preston Snyder, founder of the Kibbee Gallery, partnered with Resurgens Bank to secure permanent financing for his newly renovated midtown gallery. “In light of the current real estate financing market I was pleased to learn Resurgens Bank was actively lending and interested in my latest project. They took the time to get to know my plans for the gallery and appreciated the work that I had done in the recent renovation.”

Resurgens Bank Goes Back to School with Cobb Center Partners and Imagine Schools

After five years, Smyrna residents had grown weary of passing the vacant Rich's Department Store on South Cobb Drive, now owned by Cobb Center Partners. Cobb Center Partners had also grown weary of their continued efforts to find the right partner for their planned redevelopment of this unique space. Far removed from its glory days as Rich’s first large suburban department store, the two story retail space presented considerable redevelopment challenges. In the end, it took of all the following to successfully complete the project:

- Locate the perfect tenant for the space;
- Garner the support of local municipal leaders to facilitate the process;
- Raise sufficient equity from multiple individuals to invest in the project;
- Secure a lender to provide construction financing (in a tight credit market); and
- Pinpoint a contractor with the ability to meet a nearly impossible deadline for completion.

Don’t Forget the Left Side of Your Balance Sheet
Typically, commercial bankers focus a majority of time addressing the right side of a client’s or prospect’s balance sheet, specifically term loans and lines of credit. After all, these lending products have historically been the focus of growth for banks and other financial institutions. Additionally, a company can save thousands of dollars over the life of a loan if a lending product is properly structured and competitively priced.
